Mercian has been hand-building steel bikes in Derby since 1946. Using traditional methods, our craftsmen build beautiful bikes that last for a lifetime. Owned by its staff, our goal is to keep the Mercian flame alive for another 80 years.
As the reader may have gathered in previous articles, we are proud of our 80year heritage! While we attempt to modernise our website, customer experience, social media and communications, we will stay wedded to our core values: we make bespoke hand-made steel bikes. One-off works of art, crafted in Derby to the highest standards using traditional frame building techniques.
Heading towards 2026 we will continue to seek to mark the occasion, with a new model planned, and one or two interesting collaborations in the mix. We hope to reveal more in due course.
