After six decades Mercian Cycles workshop has moved.

Through the years there were a number of locations in Derby for the shop, the frame building workshop and sprayshop. But since about 1965 the frame building and painting was taking place at the Pontefract Street workshop.

Cara Grimwade is soon to take on one of the most extreme ‘triathlons’ we have heard of.

Framebuilder Tim took the chance to head out on the Ventura All-road bike to go and pick up some dropouts from Bear Frame Supplies. An ideal opportunity to capture some video of the custom steel Ventura out on the gravel trails of the Derbyshire Peak District.

Dave’s custom Ventura Allroad – built for his Paris-to-Nice charity ride and dedicated to his son, Conor – has already raised over €21,000 for mental health charity Aware.

I have 2,600 miles on the new Velocitia. Attached is a photo taken during the (Sunday) time of the Paris Roubaix. Wet and nasty it was and quite a bit crunchy. Then the post ride cleaned up. As you can see, I am not afraid to ride the bike in the crud. Frame is set up all Campagnolo Super

This is fab. Its been made by Chris who is one of Mercians biggest fans. I have photo shopped out his last name the best i can do and made a slight mess of it but as you can see a lot of work has gone into this. I think he could sell these quite easily.

I just recently had my 1971 Mercian frame repaired and restored by you and I just finished building it up with period-correct components. Well not every customer wants a shiny polished 953 frame. This particular customer wanted a brushed stainless look and as you can see its come out pretty good indeed. This frame will be supplied with Easton carbon forks.
